Holiday Schedule and Kagami Biraki

There will be no class on the following days:
Thursday, December 24 (Christmas Eve)
Friday, December 25 (Christmas Day)
Sunday, December 27 (Last Titans home game of the season – It’s about time)
Thursday, December 31 (New Years Eve)
Friday, January 1 (New Years Day)

Kagami Biraki, literally “mirror opening” is a traditional Japanese celebration that is held in many martial arts school. It is a time of renewal and rededication of the spirit. We will celebrate Kagami Biraki during second Friday class on Friday, January 8, with dinner afterwards. This is a special day for our dojo to rededicate ourselves to our training and to each other and to thank Tom and Mary Sensei for their instruction. Even if you are usually unable to attend class on Friday nights, please try to attend.

We are still collecting donations for Shade Tree Clinic. Donations may be given to Mary Sensei or Marta, may be left in the box, or may be made via PayPal (please see the November 28 post for the link). We thank everyone who has already donated or who is planning to donate.
