Evening Classes will be cancelled December 24, 25, and 26 AND December 31, January 1 and 2 (Wednesday through Friday both weeks).
Saturday and Sunday classes will meet on their normal schedules throughout the holidays.
For the remainder of December, the Sunday class will start at 10:00 AM. Starting on Sunday, January 4, the Sunday Class will start at 1:30 PM.
Please remember our holiday charity, the Shade Tree Clinic. We will continue to collect donations until the first of the year.
ASU dues will need to be paid in January for anyone 5th Kyu or above.
Please make the check payable to Nashville Aikikai and indicate that you are paying ASU dues in the memo line. The dojo will send a single check to ASU to pay all of our dues together.
Thanks and have a great holiday.
We had our first Sunday Test Preparation Class today and it was well received. We encourage everyone to come out. It is never too soon to start preparing for your next test, and there is always the opportunity to help your dojo brothers and sisters prepare for their next test.
We will continue to collect for our donation to the Shade Tree Clinic until the first of the year. We appreciate all of the donations that have been made thus far. See the bulletin board for an update on the status.
Mary Sensei has suggested that for the holidays we cancel class on Wed-Fri, Dec 24-26 and also Wed-Fri, Dec 31 – Jan 2.
Congratulations to Zach for passing his Gokyu test today.
Just a reminder, second Friday class will be held on December 12. We will have several Rokyu tests that day. Please come out and support your fellow dojo members.
Back by popular demand, the Sunday class will be returning at 10:00 AM with Mark and Marta. The class will be focused on test preparation for all levels from Rokyu to Sandan. As Mary Sensei states, prep for your next test begins when you pass the last one, so come out one and all. We will keep this class less formal and try to meet the needs of the attendees on that day. We look forward to seeing you there.
The dojo will be closed the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 26th and all day Thursday, Nov. 27th due to Thanksgiving. Classes will resume on Friday Nov. 28.
Hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving. You are definitely a part of what Tom Sensei and I are thankful for.
Thank you to Tom and Mary Sensei for a great Miniseminar on Saturday. We had a great turnout.
Congratulations to all of those who tested. Great Kyu tests by all.

Zach, you can run to Indiana, but you cannot hide. There is a Gokyu test in your future.
Our next group activity with be the Second Friday Class, December 12, 2014 at 6:30 PM. There will be additional tests that evening.
Our Tennessee Titans will be playing a Monday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at LP Field on November 17. The game starts at 7:30 PM. As most of you know, travel on the interstates and into East Nashville will be difficult. We took a poll of the usual Monday night crowd and have decided to cancel class that night. I appreciate all of you who come to Monday night class and look forward to seeing you on the 10th and 24th.
Thank you to the several dojo members who braved the cold this morning to hand out flyers advertising the dojo at the East Nash Dash. Mary Sensei and Marta got things started, but were quickly replaced by Chad, Zach, Roy, and Mark C. We then had a great class together with members of the Cookeville Dojo.
